    Dear Sir/Madam,
Enclosed, please find a group of checks totaling $5,132.00 that represents the net proceeds from the recent After the Battle: Fredericksburg reenactment on the Slaughter Pen property. Please consider this a donation to your Slaughter Pen campaign.
The participants would like to thank you again for allowing us the privilege of having the event on your property. The $1,072.00 check from my account is the amount of cash donations from both participants and spectators on the tour on Saturday afternoon.
A complete accounting of the event is included for your reference.
Thank you very much for the land that you have saved from development so that we may enjoy it in the future.
    Sincerely,
    Mike “Dusty” Chapman

      Hurrah!

I'm glad I was able to participate and put a few ducats into that sizable donation...

        Dusty:

Bean counter to bean counter, this is the way things should always be disclosed. If you combine the Glendale-Malvern Hill CR/SWB event with this one, nearly $9,000 made it to the CWPT for battlefield preservation. Not too shabby.

          Dusty,

A mere "thank you" cannot express the gratitude for all that you do behind the scenes.

By the way, I understand Pepe's likeness was captured digitally by Chris Piering's portable image taker. If a preservation pie can fetch $300, then how much can a gimpy skunk be worth?

            Charles:

Considering Pepe's docile, if not outright amorous :D, disposition to all of us, the picture works for me. Catching a skunk could be like catching a girl. According to my grandfather Watson; "You chase them until they catch you..."
