  • Borrow overcoat for W64

    Gents-

I checked my kit and found since I now live in New England, then I now need an overcoat (US Inf foot pattern preferrable) for the W64 event. Never really had the use for one being from and living all my life in the South.

Except at River's Bridge, SC 1999 event... anyone remember that event?

Anyone got an extra overcoat that is coming to W64? It's the only thing I need to borrow for the event thankfully... :)

    Thanks- Johnny Lloyd

    Re: Borrow overcoat for W64

    John,

The registration form for W64 2008 had a place for registrants to mark if they had certain extra gear available to loan to other event participants; among these were overcoats, New York State jackets, and mattress bags ('bed tick'). In the coming days we'll be communicating to registrants that these items are available as loaners and in what quantity, and helping to put those who have stuff to loan in touch with those who need it.

In general, I'd rather let folks who have stuff to loan work out the arrangements for the loaners directly with the person who will borriw the item, so that it's of the correct size, the pass-off and return is convenient to all parties, and to reduce the labor for the event committee.

To summarize the results of the registration process on this matter, there's eight NY State jackets, seven enlisted frock coats, and six US enlisted overcoats available as loaners from and to W64 registrants.

Well, as of this Christmas... I'm having Todd Morris make me an overcoat for this event. Nice.

I do wish to borrow a State jacket, though. Otherwise, it is the Sack Coat for me...
