  • Sutlers at Bummers

Just wanted to let everyone know that the final Sutler list has changed due to economics, illnesses, schedules, etc. It has been a rough year for everyone, as we know, especially for our friends who supply the goods we use. Here is who will be there:

    J. Blunt Clothiers
    2925 Mill Run Boulevard
    Kissimmee, Florida 34744
    E-Mail - mudcatsgt@earthlink.net

    Robert Collett
    562 Sapelo Road
    Jacksonville, Florida 32216
    E-Mail - HistoricGear@aol.com

Joe Smotherman will have some supplies available as well.

    WET PLATE IMAGES

Todd Harrington will handle wet plates for Federals starting Friday morning.

Wendell Decker and Bob Szabo will provide wet plate services for the Militia/Confederates and Citizens.

    Re: Sutlers at Bummers

Since I'm the last person anyone would expect to be "sutlering" at an event, I thought I would give a summary of my inventory for interested parties ...

pipes ... wood & meerschaum, new and used, straight and bent stems ...

matchsafes ... old, shiney and some already have strike anywhere matches in them ...

tobacco wallets ... made of rubber cloth in a variety of sizes and styles, manufactured for my by Andrew Martin (Mr. Floorcloth) ... with some tobacco in them already ...

knit goods from South Union Mills (Chris Utley) ... two each of wool hats, balaclavas, scarves, socks and trigger finger mittens ...

    previously worn shirts ...

gutta percha comb ... as seen in Echoes of Glory ...

antique pencil sharpeners ... similar in shape, design, size and function to those patented in 1858 ...

pocket knives ... one of the "reenactor variety" and one antique ...

collapsible cup ... antique, leather case embosed with eagle ...

Several items have already had inquiries made on them. I appreciate the interest.

If Joe doen't - I do. I'm bringing a few items to sell off including a W&W civilian shirt - 100% hand stitched and never worn. Size XL.

Maybe. I haven't put everything in the truck yet, so I may pull something else out of the closet. For the right price, I might take off the one I'm wearing.

Oh, I remember. Price is one thing, shipping and handling is going to cost YOU plenty.
