  • Some Bummers Photos

I wanted to make sure and at least snap a few photos of the event so we can remember it, so here are a few "teaser" photos. I will post a link to a full gallery later.

Eric, Thanks for posting these. Wow, the Cav-Shannon's Scouts look impressive, not often you see a unit portrayed with the actual number of men. Wish I could have made it to this one.

        Lee:

Thanks for picking up on the fact that the event "Shannon's Scouts" numbered the same (as per the reports) of the original Shannon's Scouts - exactly 30. There are a few missing in this photo taken on Sunday as we had about 5-6 "retire" due to jaded horses.

A great discussion occurred on a private message board as to the historical accuracy of Shannon's Scouts and the carrying of multiple pistols (historically accurate by this unit) and the adornment of "Texas stars" on many hats and clothing.

              Re: Some Bummers Photos

I have a few photos that were taken on the hill as the Feds were grouping to march out. Both cabins, one blazing and all the units are in the shot...
I'd be happy to post them if I knew how ?:cry_smile

If I can't get them posted here I'll put them on the BUMMERS yahoo site...

At some point in time I will try to write a full AAR from the Citizens point of view at the double cabins on the far hillside....just need to get my head straight and some laundry done~

                Vivian:

Can you e-mail them to me at etinohio@msn.com? I will be putting together a gallery and can post them there.

Same goes for anyone else who might have taken some photos. Please e-mail them to me at the above address so we can have a comprehensive gallery.

                Thanks!

Does anyone have photos of the "sunken" road, the escarpment above it or the "hill" we scaled after that?

There may have been 1 or 2 hills and a couple of rocks, but I didn't see a single tick!

I saw a tick! It was floating in the stew that the Tussahaw Rangers made- right next to the feather.
