I had a great time! and I'm glad I had a raincoat since we had pretty steady rain all day Saturday. It says a lot about the group that everything continued as planned. I'm also glad that fella remains in jail even if the jury couldn't convict him this time. Mistrial, indeed!

              Re: Boonesfield 2010

Yes. The mistrial had something to do with some of the jurors disagreeing on the amount of premeditation involved and its relationship to the charge of first degree murder. As the testimony progressed my memory of the events leading up to Rev. Cope's murder got better. Those fellows had plenty of time to think about what they were doing...

                  Re: Boonesfield 2010

                  Dear Mrs. Hasenmuller,

As one who served on the jury let me explain. Based solely only the evidence presented. It was very difficlut to establish that it was murder in the first degree. ALso the jury had to come to a unanimous descion. Which as you know it is difficult to get a handful of people to agree on anything. We had no real motive other than orders and a pro southern statement , and no premeditation. The Jury did agree on the first charge . Did he kill him . We answered yes to that. I was in a unique situation having not attended Lost Tribes . My ideas came only from the evidence and heresay. Unfortunately we had two members of the jury who were involved in the events . This made deliberation difficlut because some of the discussion was based on their expience not on the evidence. Just some thoughts -RM

It's pretty hard to convict a man that no one can recognize, save for a certain Copperhead inn keeper. I can't see how so many people said I committed such a heinous crime without actually being able to positively say that I was in fact the the one who actually pulled the trigger.
