  • "With Pick & Spade -2010" - Update #4 - How to Build a Skirmish Pit

At "With Pick & Spade 2010" we've been researching and honing our skills to prepare for our event in May 2010. Due to the significant winter weather we have received here in the East the focus has been on the research end. This past month, we've been taking a look at our plans to construct a skirmish (or rifle) pit in front of the park's earthworks exhibit at Petersburg National Battlefield. This task will be one for which those of us like to play in the dirt were born for!

Please check out our updated Event Vision Page for readings and a WPS-2010 How to list for constructing a skirmish pit. You can also checkout the guides and reading lists on the chevaux-de-fraise and gabions. In the months to come this page will also include fascines, entanglements, and abatis, so check back to the website and AC for more updates.

Lastly, this event occurs in 84 days, so now is the time to register!
