What no snow? My pards and have been on the wrong training program. We have been marching 8 - 10 miles a weekend in the snow. Looks like we will have to leave the brogans at home and bring the flip flops.

Coming from Michigan I am very pleased there is no snow on the ground. I have had my fill this winter, thank you very much! How is the ground is it wet? The last time I was at this site was Fighting Withdrawal and the weather was very pleasant; I slept without a blanket. That was the night of the "severe weather" where half of our "people" bugged out. I also carried home a tic who made his residence in my back for about a week before my wife noticed him and dug him out.
Bring the tic repellant boys! After this event the chief activity in the parking lot was pulling tics off your pards.

Looks awfully flat. Are the ravines and ridges in hiding? Also, being from central Texas, things are already turning green here, will the trees in north Tennessee have leaves in two weeks, or will the bare branches still be the norm?

              Phil,

It may be a matter of perspective. Every photo looks "uphill" to me. Well, maybe one is "downhill".

Branches will be budding, but mostly bare.

Thanks, Joe. I just reread my message and it sounds sort of terse. Didn't mean that, since I'm really looking forward to the event, and am glad to see the woods and dirt roads. Isn't this site real close to where the TAG event was back in 03 or thereabouts? And lots of flat meadows are just fine with me, but I expect that won't be the case.

I have been to a number of fine events at LBL, cannot wait for this one! As to terrain, it is not flat,
lots of rolling hills with some big watery stretches in between. From what I am hearing, we will see
a LOT of it in our marches. Bring spare socks (always)
To any that need a scarf for the event, I will have a half dozen or so for sale.
                  Always need a scarf.
This will be a great way to start the season!!

                    Re: Backwaters site pictures

Anyone going to be there selling socks? I have 2 pair but used to have 6 and was suprised when I could only find 2 pair of my wool socks. I guess one was worn out, one pair bit the dust in a dryer accident and then some loaners that i have not gotten back. Anyhow, I would like to stock back up.

If you have big feet, I have a pair to sell. Never worn. I bought them, but they are too big for my feet.
                      I wear an 11-Wide.
