  • Fort Lamar LH, June 17th & 18th 2011 James Island, Charleston, SC.

Commemoration of the Battle of Secessionville, Early war South Carolina or Union 1862 impression. Recruiting drive for the Carolina Rifles. Citizen impressions welcome. There is no scripted program for our part; this is a good opprotunity to gather and meet with the public and to give talks or demonstrations. This event will be more informal. We will camp on Friday night. No registration fee or rations issued.

Feel free to contact me at gdeese@trampbrigade.com

Carolina Rifles, Mustering In, James Island, Charleston, SC.

For those interested, we will form the "Carolina Rifles", Co. F, 17th SC on December 9-11, this will be a period recruitng, weapons and uniform issue. Here is our Facebook link:

    Our new website:

We will use this impression more several times in the next 18 months. I am looking for individuals that want to get away from the materials and more into the first person aspect. We will only attend events that the Carolina Rifles fought in and we'll follow their expolits in depth. There are plenty of good Federal opportunites for the next four years, I would like your help in representing these South Carolina Confederates for the Sesquicentennial.

    Sincerely,

      Period Vendor Support:

We have a place on the SCBPT property where we could accommodate two period sutlers and a photographer. We will not charge a fee for this event, but would like for you to make a small donation to the SC Battlefield Preservation Trust. Please contact me if you are interested in the December 9th commemoration.
