    Re: Businesses around Camp Halleck

I've got to say that this is the most thorough mapping and list of war-time Keokuk businesses I've ever seen. Alex's work makes it clear that Camp Halleck was in town, and surrounded by shops and businesses of all sorts. This is well worth a look, even if you're just curious as to where the camp was and what soldiers had close access to.
