  • Need a loaner Springfield bayonet

    Pards,

I will be falling in with Co. E for the "Adventure," but am rather tight on cash at the moment (thank you Veterans Administration), and do not currently have a bayonet for my Springfield. I was hoping someone might have something on hand that could fit the bill? I would be enormously appreciative.

    Warmest regards,

    EmB

Re: Need a loaner Springfield bayonet

            Hallo!

I think that was a typo for M1816.

The M1855 socket bayonet is an "M1861" bayonet. And so is basically the Type II.

            ;) :)

Just a bump to see where this ended up after I gave a hand-off on Friday at the ammo dump/registration. Please contact me to arrange shipment/etc. Thanks.

Mark, I wasn't able to make it down due to a health emergency. Not sure if you got my text, but I sent one explaining the situation. Many thanks anyway, and I'm sincerely sorry for the confusion.

Mark, Who did you leave a bayonet with at registration? I know the men who were there and nothing was said to me when I turned in my ammo. You might want to contact who you left it with.
