SCAR (SE Coalition of Authentic Reenactors) is planning to host and organize an authentic Federal battalion for the 150th anniversary battle of Resaca in May of 2014. More details will be forthcoming. You can contact me for details at unionguy1@comcast.net
    SCAR www.scarreenactors.com

    * Identified unit impression: Wood's Brigade - Hookers 20th Corps
    * Impression guidelines based on historic data - Detailed Western Federal guidelines will be posted prior to the event.
    * Established organization and structure with reasonable goals for numbers: SCAR is the host unit for the battalion. Battalion #s goal is 125-140 men.
    * Activities outside the event standard schedule that add value to the event for the participant: March to Nance Spring, seperate campaigner camping area, NCO School.
    * Traditional EBUFU activities: rations, guard, drill, some level of immersion even if temporary (i.e., overnight picket or short march, based on historic actions of course!)": Company & battalion drill, period ration issue, march to Nance Spring (possible tactical).

    Thanks,
    Jim Butler

I'm looking forward to this. It's been too long since I've been to Resaca.

It's pretty close to home, but very close to transfer season also. The 2013 schedule doesn't seem to be working out so well in my favor but I really hope to make it.

The Hairy Nation Boys have wanted to do this event for a very long time. This may be the year since we are all to old to wait any longer.

Cool. Which regiment of Wood's brigade is being portrayed, 55th or 73rd Ohio? I assume it is not the NY or Mass outfit since it says western, although all of these units transferred from the Army of the Potomac in the fall of 1863.

No final regiment has been selected yet. More will be forthcoming once we get past Gettysburg and Chickamauga. Thanks, Jim Butler

If this one is as good as the last SCAR Resaca I went to, I am in...I suspect it will be.

If your group can commit to getting at least 25 pre-registered participants and you can agree to the posted guidelines (yes they are forthcoming) then please contact me about having a company in the battalion at unionguy1@comcast.net

Mike, it is my intention to attempt to raise a company for this. I'll keep you in the loop on the attempt.
