  • 39th NY/Garibaldi Guard @ 155th Cross Keys, June 11, 2016

The Federal Commander for 155th Cross Keys/Port Republic has approved the formation of a skirmish company of the 39th NY/Garibaldi Guard for the Cross Keys reenactment on Saturday, June 11, 2016.

The company will portray the actions of the Garibaldi Guard in the vanguard at the opening phase of the battle through its service as the rear guard to cover the federal withdrawal.

The impression will be authentic and appropriate to the hard marching of the German Division in the Valley Campaign. It will not require the elaborate Bersaglieri uniform issued to the regiment in 1861.

Following the Cross Keys scenario, the company will change to a generic federal impression for the preservation march and participate in the Sunday reenactment of the Battle of Port Republic.

Details may be found on the Facebook page. “Garibaldi Guard at 155th Cross Keys”
