Ivan Ingraham and I are working on a Picket Post for May 2016 in Kentucky, the Hairy Nation Boys will have a living history at Lookout Mountain last weekend of June 2016.

Our new group, THEM! is just getting started in the Pacific Northwest. Plenty of untouched history out here.

I would love to get back to doing EBUFU and away from the adjunctivitis that has dominated the 150th cycle. Also continue to partner with the CWPT and do events on some of their sites (like Cedar Mountain, brandy station etc.) While numbers in reenacting have gone down overall, we have a core group of guys willing to travel for worthwhile events (only look at the 15th Iowa for shiloh, or this past event at bentonville). What has really been a major issue in mobilizing all those who lean towards the "dark side" has been the inundation and competition of events. I would rather focus on attending 5-6 quality events a year than the mass events that have come in waves during the 150ths.

          Agreed, Chris!

Remember why you started doing this hobby? Because it was fun, right!?

Let's get past this tyranny of scheduling and work together as a solid, unified part of the hobby versus a disparate organization with competing goals.

It is all one hobby and it is up to us to make it work. There are so many vignettes yet to be explored that you could never run out of scenarios. What is old may be new again, but it doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried again, and perhaps better than before.

We have proved we can do it, so let's go, gents!

In that vein of thought; has anyone ever attempted a large scale event at the cedar mountain site (outside of the mainstream event)?

Cedar Mountain would be awesome. I don't recall any quality event being done there, or even done on the campaign.

Re: Anything Cooking For 2016 EBUFU Events?

Will MacDonald and I are looking at land and scenarios in the College Hill area of Oxford, MS for a Federal only event December 2016. The impression would be a regiment from Sherman's Division that camped in the area in December of 1862.

I realize this is pretty vague, but I'm hopeful we can post more information soon.
