  • 46th Pennsylvania Adjunct for Cedar Mountain 155th Commemoration

    Gentlemen,

I am pleased to announce the formation of a campaigner adjunct for the 155th Commemoration of Cedar Mountain. Elements of Locke's Rifles, Buzzards, as well as Southern Division are replicating the 46th PA for the living history and battle scenarios to occur on the original ground the men of the regiment fought. Costs and proceeds for this event will be benefiting preservation, through the combined efforts of the Civil War Trust, as well as Friends of Cedar Mountain.

Impression Guidelines for 46th PA summer of 62.
Headwear: Type 1 and 2 forage caps, civilian slouch hats in limited numbers.
Jackets: Enlisted frock coats, fatigue blouses, NYS jackets
Trousers: Sky blue enlisted or dark blue enlisted trousers are equally appropriate.
Footwear: federal issue brogans, boots in limited numbers
Accouterments: federal issue, cartridge boxes with straps and breast plates, preferably shield front cap pouches, appropriate US belt plate.
Canteens: federal smoothside and/or bullseye canteens
Haversacks: federal issue or private purchase in limited numbers
Baggage: federal double bag knapsacks, federal issue blankets (grey or brown), civilian blankets in limited numbers, gum blankets, ponchos.

We have already begun the recruitment of Company E, but are looking for more participants interested in forming additional companies (we will also be acting as a military camp on the march, with appropriate field music)

Re: 46th Pennsylvania Adjunct for Cedar Mountain 155th Commemoration

We'll have two teams at Cedar Mountain pulling a section of guns portraying Knaps Pennsylvania Battery. Not only will the guns be horse drawn but we will also have our Section Commander, Kevin Oyarzo mounted, at least one Chief of Piece mounted, and we will have a guidon and bugler mounted as well. Will be a great weekend to work the horses!

Also, if there is any group here who would be interested in forming their own company for the 46th, contact me at chrismattingly28@gmail.com or on Facebook at the same name. We have one company formed so far, but would greatly welcome more.
