How about attending a great EBUFU event at Old Bedford Village, where we will be portraying the 138th Pennsylvania Infantry, training in August 1862. The entire village will be interpreted, ie: all buildings interpreted as August of 1862. Date: . September 1-2, 2018 in Bedford, PA.
The point of this event is threefold: Help raise money for Old Bedford Village to use toward repairs/maintenance, To foster cooperation and comradeship between individuals from different reenacting units and To educate and sharpen skills of both new and veteran reenactors.
We will also be honoring the men of the 138th PA that stepped off in August of 1862 on their 3 year journey to glory. They would see action at The Wilderness, Spotsylvania Courthouse, Cedar Creek and more. A medal of honor would be bestowed to one of their members.
With Cedar Creek, Neshamany & other events folding under, now is the time to solidify our place among historical interpretation sites and venues. Old Bedford Village is a beautiful reconstructed 19th century village with few modern intrusions. There are CW reenactors on their board of directors and working on site. They are welcoming us with open arms. In the past, events here have had as many as 750 troops, so there is plenty of room with great fields and wooded areas. This is a spot we need to nourish.
