    BROWN'S FERRY CLEAN-UP DAY!

On behalf of the Missionary Ridge Planning Committee I am pleased to announce that on Saturday December 7th we will be hosting a Brown's Ferry site clean-up. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome to do so. As we get closer, I will receive a list requested tasking and will provide a list of tools needed for anyone wishing to help.

After much internal discussion and conferring with our preservation partners, we have decided to re-schedule the Brown's Ferry Site Clean-Up for Saturday, December 7th. We feel this will allow us to concentrate on Missionary Ridge and give us more favorable weather... and avoid the numerous Copperhead snakes on site. We will make the change to the Facebook Event Listing tonight and encourage everyone close to the area to attend.

Bumping this to the top. We will be on-site at Brown's Ferry this coming Saturday, December 7th at 8:30 AM to clean up the Brown's Ferry Site. Please bring your weed wackers, blowers, gloves, trash bags, chain saws, and anything else that will be useful in clearing brush and removing trash on-site.

We will be doing an AC Livefeed on-site sometime during the day.

        Re: Brown's Ferry Clean-Up Day

Sorry for the delay folks, but I just got word from the property caretaker with a work list.

There is a lot of work to be done and we can certainly use all the help we can get. Just like Eric mentioned earlier, chainsaws, brush cutters, weed eaters will be incredibly helpful along with a lot of contractor trash bags. If anyone has bolt cutters they could bring, they would come in very handy for the removal of a chain link fence on the property.

Take exit 175 off of I 24 and turn right onto Brown's Ferry Road if coming from the north. Go approximately two miles and turn right onto Burgess Road. The address is 1345 Burgess Rd. Chattanooga, Tenn.

When you arrive you will notice a red gate followed by a fork in the road. Take the left fork and that will be our parking area. If that area becomes too full, then we park folks along Burgess Road. Please try and carpool as much as possible since we have limited parking space.

We will begin work at 0900 on Saturday December 7th. Do not arrive before 0830 because you will not be able to get in.

Lastly, the important legal stuff. The Missionary Ridge event organizers, American Battlefield Trust, Tennessee Civil War Preservation Association and the National Park Partners are not liable for any injury to themselves, others or property of others.

Please consider coming out and helping us, even if only for an hour or two. Thank you all for helping to re-open the "Cracker Line"

        Very Respectfully
