QM reports

[27VA]

Anyone know of how to obtain QM reports. I reenact the 27VA Co. G of the Stonewall Brigade. We, collectively are trying to find out times that uniforms were issued and a general sense of what they looked like. I have one personal diary that states "recieved dark trousers and a grey colored jacket" prior to a campaign in 1863. What I'm getting at is, there anyway to know if in a reenacting sense if logwood dyed trousers and a greyish jeans cloth/wool jacket
would be appropriate. QM records would help. I also have records of the first uniforms that the company was issued privately from Wheeling VA.

You should definitely check the "Compiled Service Records" for the 27th VA:

"Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations from the State of Virginia" (NARA Microfilm ID M324)"

I also checked for any surviving 27th VA order/clothing books but, alas, none appeared to have survived (at least at the National Archives). In addition to possible references in the "Official Records," you might also try looking in the Broadfoot Press "Supplement to the Official Records."
