  • AC Poster of the Month Contest>

Thinking about having a "Poster of the Month" contest. Based upon quality postings not on quantity of postings. The idea is to encourage people to contribute more and cause problems less.

Winner gets a short bio on the front page, a special title or signature, boost in reputation points (which we havent really discussed yet) etc. etc. What you all think?

I think we'd take nominations and maybe put them to a vote.

Stupid me, when I first saw the title of this post, I thought "where the hell are they going to hang a poster on this site (i.e. Picture "poster")"?
Glad this isn't the MENSA site!

            Hey Paul,

Maybe you could raffle off the title for preservation.

Sure why not... the first guy to send me $20 gets the title of Pogue Mahone. :D

If you do go with the idea, I'd suggest that the moderators whittle down the number of nominees to a reasonable number, before the rank and file vote. Less chance of a clear cut winner if there are 10-20 people in the running, and we don't want to see a repeat of the 1860 Democrat split vote...or do we? ;)

                    Hiya folks,

                    Hmm...

Goodness, we seek out nifty stuff to post out of fun, but now to make it a contest?? A competition for knowledge that would lead to recognization on the AC?? Ohh, I can imagine the number of members going through their files at this very moment, desperately trying to find something kewl to post!! :D

Seemed like a proposition for a popularity contest at first, but let's go with it, I say, and see what happens! I am in earnest,
