I wonder why they didn't drop bombs from aeroplanes to sink those ships.....hmm.

Well, The Brits actually had a seaplane tender in the fleet The HMS Engadine. It had a few sea planes to be used to scout, and shoot down German Zepplins. It ended up trying to help tow the HMS Warrior, which had been hit by German fire, and was almost non functional.

The Germans had wanted to use their Zeppelins to cause chaos, but the strong winds prevented their involvement,.
