  • Tired of always doing late war

The problem with doing WWI is having so many that are not willing to do anything but an American unit. I get so tired of having to do scenarios that have to fit into late war because of this. Anyone else with me?

I have been dying to do some African colony stuff. Small unit tactics, German/British. And you don't have to spend the weekend in an old trench.

Part of the problem is we also need to find some open terrain to play 1914 on. Nothing reminds me more of Flanders than Saline, Michigan.

Now I can justify getting an imperial era mauser!

This is particularly difficult for those of us who do naval.

I think there are some gents on the Florida coast that are looking at march route recreating some of General Lettow-Vorbeck's long marches. There is a spot open for guys portraying sailors of the SMS Konigsburg that joined the German colonial force. I think I have a lead on a naval gun mountain on a carriage so, the sailor adjunct could actualy DO the jobs they were put into post scuttling of the Konigsburg.

I know it is Florida, but that is as swampy and hot as we can get.

Original image of one the SMS Konigsburg's guns modified into field artillery.
