The Millennium Falcon. She may not look like much, but she’s got it where it counts, kid, and that’s why Hasbro had no choice but to whip up this massive new reproduction in time for the holiday shopping season.

There have been plenty of other big Falcon toys before. In 1979, Kenner offered up their first take. It measured 17 inches by 23 inches, weighed in at just under four pounds, and required two “C” batteries. It was actually the first Star Wars toy Kenner produced, and it remained a hot seller for four years.

In 1995, they resurrected it. This time, the Millennium Falcon could produce four different sounds captured right from the movies and had light effects to complete the experience. Our own Matthew Humphries is the proud owner of one of these babies, and he measured it at 16? by 20?.

The new model? Hasbro didn’t specify how big it is on their website, but the box proudly proclaims that it’s more than two feet long. Really, the exact numbers aren’t necessary. The look on this kid’s face pretty much tells you how big this thing is:

It’s certainly almost as big as some of the four-year-olds Hasbro figures are safe to play with it. Not that you’re eyeballing this for your kids.

Obviously you’re not going to be able to win this Millennium Falcon from Han Solo by beating him in a Sabacc tournament. You will, however, be able to stroll in to Walmart with $60 and walk out with one — or order it online and skip the walking. That actually seems like a decent price considering that the original sold for $24.99 in 1979, when you could buy a new Buick for around $4700.

Anyone else thinking about ordering one of these and suspending it from the ceiling?

Good gawwwd! That price... And, I just shelled out a LOT of credits to retro fit my AT-AT Walker to make it work for the Endor scenario. These sweet deals always pop up when I've splurged on the AT-AT.... Ugh

Hopefully they've fixed the issue with the cockpit hatch staying closed and the window "glass" falling out. These were problems in both the '70's and '90's versions. Hope they've fixed it!
