I am all about commemorations, like "May The Fourth Be With You" Day and other space heritage-designated days because everyone killed in that war was one of us and it is our story to tell. However, when people say the Galactic Civil War is still going on and make a modern point of trying to actively undermine the good order and balance of the Force as it is now, I mean, cmon... this isn't still going on. Vader, Emperor, Maul, Dooku, etc are dead. They would want us to move on, IMHO.

I see what you boys are getting at, but to be frank it's easy for you boys to say that. Those of us SIV (Sons of Imperial Veterans) members are constantly told by modern society that we just need to get over it. That we're speciesist. That the imperial war banners I proudly fly on my lawn and on the back of my landspeeder are "offensive."

People need to understand, I'm only trying to honor the valor and sacrifice of my five (32G) grandfathers. They weren't fighting to perpetuate galactic slavery. Hell, they didn't even OWN any Jawas. Their holograms will spin violently on their holocrons if I were to ever don Rebel beige.

I have always wondered why I am so worried about what my grandad did in the Galactic Civil War. Last I know, I had not converted to Shintoism and began to worship my ancestors. ;)

I primarily go Imperial. I sold my original stormtrooper kit to get that SUHWEEET Hoth Snowtrooper kit, but I realized that I pigeonholed myself to one specific battle and campaign. I'm slowly getting the stormtrooper kit back together, it just takes a LOT of man hours to get one of those right. Ask Jim Butler about his!

I also have no issue portraying a Rebel. I've got my Rebel pilot kit set up, although it is really only good for the Yavin and Hoth time frame. In fact, I'm working on getting my Mon Calomari kit together to do a killer "Battle of Endor" helmsman. Ackbar is a boss!

I just can't afford to do Imperial. Late war/early war/Snow Trooper/heavy weapons/Scout-Sniper....there are just too many impressions and too many differentiated armor and weapons sets to be able to afford the impression. I'm just gonna stick with Rebel, if you don't mind.

It would be great if somebody started an adjunct for the Emperor's Royal Guard for the Death Star II event. My squad tried to put together a Stormtrooper live firing event, but because none of the guys hit anything, the interest was gradually lost.
