Seasonal Historical Interpreter

This seasonal position (560 overall hours) provides an opportunity to be a part of a hardworking staff at a unique setting. Duties include giving talks and historical house tours, performing daily activities and demonstrations, assisting with heirloom gardening, and maintaining a period correct impression. Clothing and training will be provided.
This position requires someone with strong people skills and the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public. Previous interpreting experience or living history experience is desired but not required.
This seasonal position will involve quite a bit of weekend work as our programs are primarily on Sundays. The interpreters schedule and overall number of hours and months worked will be determined based upon the interpreters overall flexibility.
Primarily this staff member will be assisting and conducting historical programs for the visiting public. He or she will also be helping with special tours and events. Will contribute to other duties as assigned.
Pay for this position is currently $ 7.61. Period clothing is also provided. Housing for candidates is also available.
