  • The 2010 Pocket Change Challenge

I'd like to issue a challenge to members of this forum to support preservation during the upcoming year. And I have a pretty painless way for you to do it.

Get a jar and label it your preservation jar. At the end of each day drop your pocket change in the jar. At the end of the year, roll up the change and make a contribution in that amount to whatever historic preservation fund or site you feel worthy of your support. There, you did something important to help preserve history and it really didn't hurt at all.

    Try it for yourself.

Great idea Michael! For all that do this, when you send your donations to that organization you want to support, check with your employer to see if they have a matching funds program.
Many Fortune 500 companies do participate in matching programs for historical preservation. It's worth checking into, you could be giving much more by doing so.

I'll take the challange, usually donate during the year when I can, but this will be something extra at the end of the year, if we all did this and then pooled it, we could make a dent.
