    I had not heard, thank you for sharing this information, Mark. I briefly met Mr. Nolan at a symposium, probably 8 years ago. A fine gentleman, I have a few of his titles on my bookshelf. He will be missed.

      Sad news indeed. I never meet him, but my mother-in-law worked for 30 years at an attorneys office in downtown Indianapolis. Mr. Nolan would come in from time to time, and she told him that I was a Civil War nut. The next time he came back to her office he gave her a signed copy (To Scott, best regards Alan Nolan) of "Lee Considered." I think that's just the kind of sharing person he was.

      I had not head the news myself, thanks Mark.
