Practical Naturepathic, Mesmeric, Clairvoyant and Magnetic Physicians, for the safe, sure and natural treatment of Disease, Weakness and Infirmities.

Not much different from the alternative medicine that's sold/practiced today, and it would have had about the same context then--some loyal believers who swear it works better than conventional medicine, others convinced it's total quackery.
