The Society for Women and the Civil War wants to remind you that there are only two weeks left to register for Women at Gettysburg: The 10th Conference on Women and the Civil War before incurring the $15 late registration fee on July 1.
This year’s conference is scheduled for July 25-27, 2008 at Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. It is open to the public for a nominal fee, and features presentations on the lives and roles of women in the Civil War.
We're all feeling the crunch of gas prices, so the fact that this conference is one of the great deals of the summer should make it even more important to attend:
- The $59 rate at the Sheraton is tough to beat for a nice hotel room anywhere in the Gettysburg area on a July weekend
- Though it’s too late to take advantage of that $195 registration rate
(which was the SAME fee registrants paid 10 YEARS ago at the first
conference), the registration fees are still bargains
- If you can't come for the whole weekend, you might try one of
the $45 half-day options
With workshops in Chambersburg and Carlisle, a field trip to Gettysburg, and nine presentations highlighting the lives and roles of women in the Civil War, you can't afford NOT to come to this conference!
