Gentlemen,
I know you'll find this hard to believe, but your "girl with the beautiful eyes" is the identical twin to one Ellen Schrodter now twenty five years old and a daughter of family friends of ours here in Australia.

I wonder if in some strange way theyre related through the years and distance.

I am glad Mr. Baker posted the picture of his dream girl. Being his first person impression is that of a professor at a finishing school for young women I now know why he is often distracted when cursed with the duties of a soldier. That said, I still will spoon with him when it is real cold.

I think what sets this young lady's picture off so well, and gives such a striking and memorable look to it, is the direct look she is giving the camera with just a hint of a smile. Not a full smile, but almost that enigmatic smile the Mona Lisa has. Kinda like she knows a secret, or she is about to get you to admit a secret to her. When most people posing for a picture in that period have at best a straight face, or even what appears to be a frown, the hint of a playful smile stands out like sunshine.

That and she does have lovely eyes.

I think you nailed it with your observations sir. I still want to know who she is.
