Beal Cemetery, Milam Co. Texas. The bronze plaque at the top of the stone indicates he was also a Texas Revolution veteran.

Hey all. Wanted to let you know that I'm moving on to another job, no longer working with cemeteries, so posts from me and Texas mason tombstones will probably trickle down to very few and far between. It's been fun.

            Is this a Masonic monument?

Sorry, but I couldn't get the photo of the entire monument to post. It is VERY Gothic.

The columns, arch, key stone , eye and King Davi's seal is repeated on each face of the spire.
I don't think it is Masonic. It could possibly be the stone of a member of the Church of the Latter Day Saints. They are known to use the Eye of Providence, columns, and the Star of David in their symbolism.

Here's one we featured last week in a cemetery walk I organized in Mazomanie Wisconsin. The wartime grave of Captain William Freeman, Co. A, 11th Wisconsin. Wounded May 17, 1863 at Black River Bridge MS, succumbed to his wounds and disease June 2, 1864. Incidentally, Freeman was a professional stone and brick mason. His substantial brick house still stands in the village.
