Proper Banjo

As an amateur 19th century banjo enthusiast, I am in need of a quality instrument. Having shopped around for a bit, I've come across some venues, but was curious as to the avenues you fellows would advise.

There are few better shops than Elderly. I bought a 59' Les Paul and sold a 62' Stratocaster without a hitch. You might want to act fast on these though.

The Banjer Illuminati may pop in tell you how wrong and unauthentic you are, but you will be well served with either and both are ready for immediate purchase w/out the lengthy wait expected from these craftsmen.

I am a banjo neophyte myself, but I must concur with Silas' advice to consider Marty Liebschner's work. I ordered one, it took a bit over two months to get (which is what I was told it would take) and I could not be happier. If you are on facebook you can see it on his page. It is the one one going to Niagara Falls. It is a beautiful instrument!
