    Hi,

It sounds like us yanks will have lots of CS targets. Let them come; I will hold no matter how many there are:baring_te. Okay, maybe not. But I will put up one hell of a fight.:D
Chad, what regiment was your grandfather with?

I'm a part of the 48th Ny Co. F. I don't know what you guys have been told but at first I heard the campaign part of the event was just going to be Friday, and we were going to meet up with the main army in the camp on Saturday Morning. But apparently now we are campaigning the whole weekend, which I have no problem with at all.

          Brandon,

The campaigner march starts friday at 8 am. Those that can not arrive by friday at 8 am should report to Joe Blunt at Federal HQ to be directed on hwo to link up with the company. We will have some opposing forces on friday and Saturday morning. We will not link into the mainstream part of the event till Saturdays afternoon battle.

          Thanks,

              Gentlemen,

Our CO for the SCAR company at Olustee, Ken Giddens gave me an update today regarding Olustee. We will be stepping off friday morning at 8:00 am. If you can not make it by then, there will be another group meeting up with the column at 2 pm on friday. Please report to Joe Blunt at the Federal HQ in Federal camp if you have any questions or wish to find the company.
We will be supplied with rations that consist of soft bread, slab bacon, coffee, sweet potatos, cone sugar and possibly some hardtack. Donations of $5 to Ken Giddens for the ration is appreciated.
Please wear forage cap, sack coat, sky blue trousers, knapsack as your primary impression. (great coats are allowed if you wish to carry them).
We will be part of a tactical march with opposed cavalry until the main battle on Saturday. After that we will be in the main camp and you will have plenty of sleep time and sutler time after the Sat battle.

Had fun on Friday with the people who made it an early morning. The SCAR Co under Capt Giddens moved out and pressed towards Ocean Pond, running into brief skirmishes with a small Cav detachment. Friday night bivouacked somewhere near a pine tree and the only example of saw palmetto that is in northern Florida.

Had a great time with the SCAR Co and everyone that feel in with us.

It was wet, it was cold, but it was fun.

I had a great time with you SCAR folks Friday night/Saturday morning. Thanks for having me. :)
