  • Petersburg Breakthrough Registration and event schedule

We're one month out. Many have expressed interest in this event at Pamplin Park occurring at the exact time and place where the Sixth Corps broke through the overly stretched Confederate line. Now's the time to go through your gear for what works and what doesn't. Here's a link to the impression standards for the two impressions : http://www.authentic-campaigner.com/...1-2-April-2015

While you're at it, click on the attachment and submit your registration. Emailed registrations are very much preferred over snail mail copies. Since the system doesn't allow attachments of word documents, the below attachment is in pdf format. If you'd like it in word, send me an email to mark.tackitt@gmail.com I'll forward it to you in word format.

Here is some other information about timing :

    (1) Check in commences at three o'clock in the afternoon of 1 April. At seven o'clock, an orientation of the event will occur.

    (2) Gates close at ten o'clock in the evening.

    (3) The ball commences the next morning at five forty with the VIP tour group following. This is when it first becomes light.

    (4) The park opens at nine o'clock.

    (5) At half past ten o'clock will be an infantry drill program at the battlefield center.

    (6) At eleven o'clock will be "combined arms" demonstration at the fortification display.

    (7) A wreath laying with taps and small arms salute is scheduled for one o'clock in the afternoon.

    (8) Reenactors may continue to participate in living history demonstrations with the park until closure at five o'clock.

    Gents,

We are rapidly closing in on this event. There is an opportunity to do an all night picket along the original rifle pits and staging ground near pamplin for the VIth corps assault. The CWPT has recently cleared the majority of the land between forts welch and gregg to the outer edge of the rifle pits at Pamplin. If you can make it to this event, contact myself or Silas. Still looking for good Union and Confederate impressions.

Sharpshooters from Lane's Brigade will be waiting for you ready to make a warm welcome. Look forward to portraying what what was a decent (if brief) fight that is all but forgotten. This is what the 150th's are all about.
