Re: Your favorite hat
I found a Clearwater hat at Franklin during the last " National" event. I actually found it on the clearance table by accident. I don't rightfully know the "style," however, I am very pleased with how long it has lasted and how it keeps the sun off, rain out, and even head warm. It is not a beehive. It is the one on my avatar pic.

Re: Your favorite hat
It could be the Sekala "Type I", which sits nicely on the back of my head, or maybe the "Type II" with vent - cooler on hot days, or perhaps the TP&H flat-top bowler, but then, that one's not quite aged enough yet...
So many hats, so little time. :(

Re: Your favorite hat
My favorite hat is a Dirty Billy Hardee that got soaked at a LH this summer. The rain caused the crown to sink down, and the brim to curl up. I couldn't have modified it any better myself.

Re: Your favorite hat
2 i would say...
1. a tim allen hat i bought back in 91. Tan beehive. this thing is a beater, and if you all saw me at Chickamauga then you noticed how good a shape this thing is in...
2. the Starbuck LT cap i am wearing in my avitar. I would say that since i started buying his caps back in 92 i have managed to aquire about 30+ of his caps and this is my favorite...

Re: Your favorite hat
My favorite hat has to be the Dirty Billy dark brown beehive that I picked up at 1998 Gettysburg event. Lining is just about gone and sweat band needs replacing but it sure wears great. Next favorite is my Tim Bender telescoping 4 inch brim plantation hat...keeps sun of this ole balled head and helps keep my ears for getting burned...not to mention keeping cold rain from running down back of neck when ya standing guard in middle of the night.:cry_smile

Re: Your favorite hat
Two actually, a Dirty Billy's brown medium beehive farmer that I picked up at Wilson's Creek 2000. It's just about to get the right shape, patina and smell. And a Starbuck's Federal Forage Cap that's getting right as well. A good hat and some well-fitted brogans.....the rest will fall into place.

I agree..... The cap I'm wearing in my avatar is an old Covais forage cap. Very sweet indeed.
