  • Bermuda Hundred - Who Else is Going?

After hearing about the past events at Bermuda Hundred for years, I eagerly signed up for the 2014 version. Who else here is signed up? Is there anyone here that has gone to one of the past events that can let us know what to expect?

If your referring to the April 26-27 event organized by John Pagano(US), I believe the event is on the Chesterfield County Parks And Rec property. This is a site that has only recently hosted its first Living History event. It's called Point of Rocks. Not sure if there is another event.

My bad Eric. I just noticed your plug for this event. Your right, it should be very good! The site has been protected by a private land owner until recently acquired by the County. The site is awesome!

I know a lot of the WIG types will be there. We (AG) have a company in the 15th Virginia effort (oh lawdy!), and our comrades in the SCAR have a unique impression portraying the transplanted Tennesseans of Bushrod Johnson's command. There is a lot of good buzz for the event.

I've been approved to portray SanCom. Would others portraying SanCom like to coordinate displays, impressions, etc.? I've put together a few resources on SanCom efforts specific to this campaign and will gladly share with interested folks. :-)

I was at the event site work day this past Saturday and Mr. Taggart is correct, it is amazing! It's secluded and free of modern intrusions with the exception of the paved road that dead ends into the site.

Tyler, do you have any photos from the work day that you would be willing to share here? I saw a few from John Pagano's facebook page. The few I saw looked good.

                      Thanks!

I didn't take any pictures Herb, but John has given me permission to post his pictures here for everyone to enjoy. There will also be another work day on February 8th from 9-5. This would be a good chance to scope out the site for those who are interested

                            Starr's Battery will be there.

                            ------From the FB event page------

The next work day is FEBRUARY 8, 9-5pm, and this may be the one we get all the clearing objectives done. Maybe we can get some Federals to do some clearing of the Friday night (FED) bivouac location and work around what will be the rifle pits they capture. Confederate folks need to mostly get clearing finished and make sure the slashing looks right. The rest belongs to Chesterfield County.
